Look at me! I'm awesome! |
No longer. In putting together a logbook for the upcoming event, I actually - finally - successfully stitched myself a logbook using the coptic stitching method. Probably, one day I'll post about my fumblings in making one of these books, but for now I'm content to post a picture of the final product and let it speak for itself. I'm inordinately proud of myself.
My first coptic stitched book - 3x4" with sparkly covers - perfect for a night time letterbox, don't you think? |
I wish you all luck with your crafty ambitions! Happy trails!
Nice... I love the japanese stitch ones. I took your advice and bought some supplies at the Colour Jar in Durham. I am going to break down and start learning to make my own books. It is the next logical thing to do. I do like the idea of books to size :D... and sparkles :D...

I told you to go to Colour Jar in Durham? I don't even know what that is...
DeleteYes, I'm very much enjoying the book making now that I'm not totally inept. Very exciting!
Well done. The stitches look great and most importantly, the book lies flat, i.e. the spine is not too tight. What did you use for binding thread?
ReplyDeleteNothing too expensive: run of the mill embroidery thread!
DeleteSo very tidy that you didn't even have to cover the spine with a full fabric job (like some other ferny letterboxer/logbook maker I know...)

That ferny letterboxer makes fine logbooks! I will not have you disparaging her!
